HP Error Code: 02 – Warming Up
Explanation:This is commonly associated with printer cable or driver problems
What to do:Power off the printer and remove all the printer cable, Wait for a few second and power it back on, if this does not resolved the problem, there may be a hardware problem. An Engineer will need to attend the call,
HP Error Code: 10 – Supplies Memory Error
Explanation:The printer may have a problem with the toner cartridge or the toner chip, Printer is unable read it.
What to do: Try to reset the printer by powering it on and off. If this doesn’t work Take out the Toner cartridge and reinstall it, if this doesn’t work try replacing the toner cartridge. If is still doesn’t work then you may have a hardware fault.
HP Error Code: 11 – Paper Out
Explanation: If the printer has not run out of paper, it is likely there’s a problem with the paper tray or paper sensor.
What to do: Make sure the printer is placed is on a flat surface. Next check all the paper cassettes for any damage or toner build up. If not fixed an Engineer will need to attend the call,
HP Error Code: 12 – Open or No EP
Explanation:Check to see If the toner cartridge is in correctly, if so it may mean either a cover is open or the cooling fans or sensors are defective.
What to do: Check the toner cartridge are installed correctly and check all covers are closed properly. If this does not fixed it an Engineer will need to attend the call,
HP Error Code: 13 – Paper Jam
Explanation: The printer has a paper jam. Paper jams can occur through out the machine i.e. pickup, printing, fusing and exit. Most hp machines will indicate on the screen where the jam has happened
What to do: Follow the on screen instructions, if available, or check for the paper jam through out the machine. Please do not use hard implements to remove paper jams at the risk of damage to the machine and yourself. If this does not fixed it an Engineer will need to attend the call
HP Error Code: 14 – No toner Cartridge
Explanation: The machine either doesn’t have a toner cartridge or it is not correctly
What to do: Remove and reinstalling the toner normally fixes this problem.
HP Error Code: 16 – Toner Low
Explanation: This normally indicates the toner cartridge is low or the toner is empty.
What to do: Remove the toner and shaking it gently to evenly distribute the remaining toner. replace the cartridge if this does not fix the problem
HP Error Code: 20 – Memory Overflow
Explanation: The Print job exceeds the current memory of the laser printer.
What to do: Reduce the size of your printing job and try reducing the DPI. Also try making the document or image simpler.
If this does not fixed it an Engineer will need to attend the call
HP Error Code: 21 – Printer Overrun
Explanation: The print job has exceeded the current memory capacity of the printer.
What to do: You will need to reduce the size of your current print job. Or try reducing the DPI. You can also try making the document or image simpler.
If this does not fixed it an Engineer will need to attend the call
HP Error Code: 22 – I/O Configuration
Explanation: A Communication problem between the printer and the computer has occurred.
What to do: Try another printer cable i.e. usb-network or parallel and check the computer is power on and the cable is fully inserted. If this doesn’t help there may be a hardware issue and an Engineer will need to attend the call
HP Error Code: 24 – Job Memory Full
Explanation: There is too many print jobs being send to the printer at the same time, or the job is too big for the laser printer memory to process.
What to do: You can reduce the file size of your current print job. You can also try reducing the DPI. You can also try making the document or image simpler.
HP Error Code: 25 – XXX Memory Full
Explanation: many print jobs being send to the printer at the same time, or the job is too big for the laser printer memory to process
What to do: You can reduce the file size of your current print job. You can also try reducing the DPI. You can also try making the document or image simpler.
HP Error Code: 30 – PS Error 16
Explanation: This is a PostScript firmware error. PCL files being sent while the print is in PS mode or a bad PostScript file can also trigger it.
What to do: Reseat the PostScript SIMM or replace it. If this doesn’t help there may be a hardware issue and an Engineer will need to attend the call
HP Error Code: 30.1.1 – Disk Failure
Explanation: The printer’s hard disk has crashed or is faulty
What to do: This can normally be resolved by pressing the SELECT button. If it persists you may have a hardware problem and an Engineer will need to attend the call
HP Error Code: 40 – Data Transfer Error
Explanation: The connection between the Printer and the Pc has gone faulty.
What to do: Check all the cables and ensure that any EIO boards are seated installed properly. If the printer is networked check to make sure the printer has the right IP settings and the driver haven’t changed. Press SELECT to continue printing however print data may be lost; simply reprint the missing pages.
HP Error Code: 41 – Temporary Print Engine Error
Explanation: The printer has experienced a temporary engine error, which can be easily fixed.
What to do: Power the printer off from the mains and wait for 100 seconds. Turn the printer back on and resend the print job.
HP Error Code: 49 – Printer Error or Communication Error
Explanation: There is a few causes to this error it depends on the printer model, which tend to be associated with firmware or network errors,

Explanation: This relates to a motorised tray lift error.
What to do: Check that all paper trays are moving up and down check obstructions such as paperclips or other objects.
HP Error Code: 61 – Formatter, Memory Error
Explanation: The laser printer either has bad memory SIMMs or a faulty formatter board.
What to do: Try simply reseating the memory chips. If it persists you may have a hardware problem and an Engineer will need to attend the call
